Reconstructions
This journey of work explores childhood memories of location, discovery, and home life. I feel that I am creating a physical archive of not only my past but a common ground that many of us recognize and can relate to each other on. The need for adventure and spontaneity shouldn’t vanish once we get older and move on so I feel my work heals that inner child’s system and shows its ok to see things differently and to just have fun no matter what the result is. There needs to be a basis on when to remove the stress on what we envision reality to be and its standards.

Flora and Fauna
This series is a never ending investigation of discovery and experimentation. Typically most of these pieces represent symbols of locations or iconography to spaces that are or have been relevant in my life. From local farms, to native flowers it is all representational. Playing with textures of flower petals and details of feathers and fur, I feel that I am paying respect to the places I’ve come from and the places that I have learned to call home through my life.

Self Reflections
Self portraits have become a significant role in my work as a painter and works not only as a piece of art but also as a documentation of time. Since 2020 I have been producing at-least one self portrait a year that shows my developments and changes as a painter and person navigating her way through life. They have become a nostalgic reminder of moments of time and remembrance. Similarly to viewing old photographs I look back on each brush mark, and reference selection to reflect on where I came from as well as where I am headed for the future.

Mixed Media
Collaging with a range of materials has always been an intuitive process behind my practice. Rearranging and reinventing imagery within such a physical matter allows me to dive into a new realm of reality and imagination. I use collage and mixed media work as a way to develop my ideas further for future painting references and themes as well as a way to collect memories and create an archival record of my time and experiences.
